Travel area South Altai is few researched and changed region which has most traits of neighboring Mongolia. Car part of the route and staying in mountains is a perfect opportunity to explore already all natural zones of Altai: from pine-hardwood forests growing like a narrow strip along the valley of the Katun river, Mongolian steppe landscapes of the Kurai crater to the mountain taiga forests and snow-ice deserts of alpine zone.
Beginning and finishing points of our trip is Barnaul (Altai Territory). From here we go in a van to the south in the direction of Mongolia on the ancient trade route – Chuyskiy way through two mountain passes to the Altai village named Kurai (Altai Republic). Then crossing the Kurai crater (1700 m asl) we reach the ancient moraine in the valley of Aktru river (North-Chuya Range). Further ascending on an ancient glacial moraine and rossing the valley the parties reach the camping “Aktru” (2150 m asl). This campsite is located near the glacier Aktru surrounded by pine forests. Look forward to an unforgettable stay in this truly hospitable mountain-glacial valley.
Features of the route:
The tour is suitable for experienced tourists and beginners. Daily passings (around 5 – 15 km) in a quiet pace assumed to be normal in shape. We are waiting from you: endurance, willingness to ignore the usual comfort and assistance in organizing the camp. The program may change due to weather or other adverse conditions. Tour guide is to decide to change the route.

| Day 2 | After breakfast we start the active part of the trip. Ascent along Aktru river by foot (9 km). Утренняя встреча туристов (7.00 – в аэропорту, возле зала прилета, 8.00 – на ж/д вокзале, под информационным табло. Для приезжающих на сутки ранее начала тура, сбор: в 08.30 в офисе турфирмы «Плот-Интрэвел» по адресу ул. Анатолия, 94, либо из отеля где Вы остановились. Краткое обсуждение маршрута. Ненужный в горах багаж можно оставить на хранение. Переезд по Чуйскому тракту через перевалы Семинский и Чике-Таман до Курайском степи. Далее пересекая Курайскую котловину (1700 м над у.м.), достигаем древнего мореного вала. Ночёвка в палатках на территории туристической стоянки «Перевалка».
После завтрака начало активной части похода. Подъем вдоль р. Актру осуществляется пешком (9 км). Можно заказать автомобиль для заброски вещей и снаряжения*. Размещение в палатках возле базы спасательного отряда (2150 м над у.м.). По вечерам к вашим услугам уютная баня*, прямо на берегу небольшого озерка Сачки, лед на котором нередко держится до конца июня – отличная возможность остудиться после парной.
Выход на ледник Малый Актру. Ледник длиной около 3 км и площадью около 3 км² занимает долину между вершинами Кара-Таш и Купол, под большим уклоном спускающуюся в ущелье. Толщина льда около 92 метров. Язык ледника бесснежный, опускается до высоты 2235 м, из-под него вытекают ручейки, которые, объединяясь, образуют впадающий в Актру поток, иногда называемый «Малой Актру». Спуск в кемпинг. Свободное время.
Выход вдоль р. Актру, мимо «бараньих лбов» вверх, по леднику до «Голубого озера» (2900м над у.м.) В хорошую погоду открывается вершина Актру (4075м). Подъем длится 2-3 часа. Спуск в лагерь.
Восхождение на перевал “Учитель” (3100 м над у.м.). Тропа довольно круто уходит вверх. Вознаграждением служит отдых и прекрасный вид на Курайскую котловину и прилегающие хребты. Спуск к лагерю. Баня. Вечер у костра.
День отдыха. Активные игры на природе.
После завтрака участники покидают ущелье Актру. Спуск к турбазе «Перевалка». Прощальный вечер у костра. Ночь в палатках. Возможно посещение бани.*
Обратный путь на микроавтобусе. Прибытие в Барнаул около 20.00. По пути остановка на роднике «Аржан-Суу». Вода в роднике насыщена серебром, медью и другими минеральными примесями, в связи, с чем долго хранится и, главное, благотворно влияет на улучшение обменных процессов в организме. Рядом с источником находится крупный базар с сувенирами, где можно приобрести карты, книги, предметы искусства, изделия из кедра. Размещение в гостинице.*
