Tour Program

Day 1.  National museum of Republic Altai (430 km by auto)

Morning arrival in Barnaul.  Meeting at the airport. Breakfast in a café, in the center of the city.

Excursion around the central and historical parts of Barnaul. After that we moving to the heart of the Gornyi Altai- the Teletskoye lake. The lake occupies the fifth place in Russia among the deepest (325 m) lakes of our country. The length of the lake is 78 km, maximum width up to 5 km, and its Area is relatively small – 223 km2, but thanks to a great depth in it contains a huge amount (40 km3) excellent fresh water, oxygen-rich, transparent to a depth of 12-15 meters.

On the way make a stop at home of V. M. Shukshin, known Altai writer, actor, Director, in the village of Srostki. In Gorno-Altaisk you will visit the National Museum. A. V. Anokhin by name, with one of its main exhibits – the mummy “Altai Princess” found on the Ukok Plateau.

Lunch in a cafe. Arrival on the  lake Teletskoe, accommodation in a comfortable double rooms on the hotel complex “Eden”. Dinner in a cafe.

Day 2.  Zaimka ( hunting house) Kono – Silver source (30 km – snowmobile/ATV quad bikes , 2 km by foot).

Breakfast in the cafe. Today enjoy an excursion on the snowmobile / ATV  guad bikes on hunting-house Zaimka Kono!  Accompanied by an instructor, for 2 persons on a snowmobile / ATV, you move out of the old forest roads to the cozy, covered with heat and light cedar lodge.

A family of  taiga inhabitants lives nearby, surrounded by a fairy forest. Family members affect their health and good spirits. At the lodge you will be served with hot tea. After the tour, we return to the tourist complex “Eden”. Lunch and dinner at a café. At the request of the group in the afternoon walking tour (2 km) to the “Silver Spring”.

Silver Spring has been known for a long time. In 1839  it was consecrated by the Reverend Makarios Nevsky, the founder of the Orthodox Mission in Altai. Water source is enriched with silver ions, and has health properties. The cedar grove near the source of silver is growing extremely powerful 500-year-old cedar , who willingly  shares his power with anyone who tries to embrace his powerful trunk, but in order to cover the whole trunk of the tree  you need at least 4 people. After dinner, at your service, Russian banya (sauna) with a rest room.

Day 3. Ski complex “Manzherok”- Dog sledding (240 km – by car, 1 km by dog sledding)

Breakfast. Moving in the valley of the Katun River and on to the village “ Ust-Sema”. On the way of our trip we visit the village Manzherok  where you visit the lake with the same name and local ski-resort. Walk by cableway on the “Sinukha”mounting”. From the top of the hill you can see a beautiful view of the valley Katun and the lake “Manzherok”. For thous  who wants to skiing, snowboarding or use the snowtube on the local tracks may try it for an extra charge. Lunch in a cafe.

Then You expect the dog sledding on a snowy surface of Manzherok lake! The dog sledding is cheerfulness and amazing feelings of communication with real sled dogs. Transfer to the resort area of the valley of the Katun river to the village Uzneza . The name comes from the Altaic words “Suu” and “easy”, which means “river spirit”. There is an opinion that in this place at the time of the Altai Kams (shamans) were some of their ceremonies. Accommodation in the hotel complex in the standard rooms. In the area of extraordinary climate, healthy air, a rare combination of energy bands provide a unique beneficial effect on the human condition. At your service on the complex -winter pool, a Russian banya ( sauna), a bar, dining room, fireplace, two halls, sauna, swimming pool, karaoke, satellite TV, two billiards, table tennis. Dinner in a cozy cafe with home cuisine.

Day 4. Chemal- Blue lakes (120 km by auto, 4 km- by foot.)

Breakfast.  At the first part of the day we organize the excursion “Chemal walk”. During the tour we will visit Chemal Hydroelectric power which is located in the southern part of the village. Hydroelectric power is one of the first in the region, built in 1935. Then we go on the “goat trail” along the river Katun and appear on the rocky island –Patmos. On the Patmos Island we can visit little church of the female monastery. The island is connected with the shore of the river with the help of suspension bridge. Next to the temple in the rock is carved image of the Virgin and Child.

Return to the tourist complex, lunch. In the afternoon departure to the Blue lakes. Lakes fickle (disappear during the flood of the river), they are formed as a result of the recession of water level in the river Katun.

In winter the lake is not nipped by the frost, the water temperature in them ~ 9 degrees Celsius. At the bottom of lakes beat unusually powerful springs. No warm springs, keys are cold!  But they give so much water that the lake does not freeze at 40 degrees (Celsius) below zero. The bravest can go swimming. Return to the village Ust-Sema. Dinner in a cafe.

Day 5. The source Arzhan-Suu (140 km by auto).

Travel along the foothills of the Altai district in the city-resort Belokurikha, known throughout Russian for its medical properties aeroionotherapy air and radon water. Next stop is the source “Arzhan-Suu”. Water in the spring is full of silver, cooper and other mineral impurities that is why the water is stored for a long time and have a beneficial effect on the improvement of metabolic processes in the body. A large gift- market  is located near the source where you can buy maps, books, art, articles  made of cedar. Arriving at the resort area, hotel accommodation “Belokur.” Lunch and dinner in the restaurant. In the afternoon, you can try the local ski trails, enjoy a variety of water parks or just walk around the resort area.

Day 6. City-resort Belokurikha – “Sibirien Podvorie (yard)” (50 km – auto, 2 km by foot )

After breakfast, you will tour the sacred mountain Tserkovka (801 m above the sea level). The rise for about 20 minutes on the cableway, with spectacular views of the city and resort area. The walk to the rock Tserkovka. Next, visit the temple of the Holy Panteleimon healer.  Moving to the suburbs Belokurikha – village Nowotarski, visiting tourist and entertainment complex “Sibirskoe Podvorie” ( Sibirien yard).

Lunch at the restaurant “Tavern Dilizhans”. Sightseeing tour with a visit to the natural model of the windmill, the stable which contains horses of elite breeds, red deer, Sika deer and poultry yard. Lovers of antiquity invited to visit the open-air museum, where you store items and technology of the past.

You will learn how the peasants before the 19th century were farming. Older harnesses, agricultural tools, sleighs, carts … All you can pick up and touch it. Recently opened tourist-entertainment complex open air Museum “Technical symbols of national economy of the USSR”: a small aircraft designed for agricultural purposes, the steam engine, vintage tractor with trailer. Also in the complex there is a picturesque pond, the Hippodrome. Return to Belokurikha. Dinner.

Day 7 Swan Lake (260 km by bus )

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Barnaul. On the way we will visit the unique “Swan Lake”. It is one of two in Russia wintering whooper swans. The lake bottom is sand and pebbles, the water is very clean and clear. The water reservoir is filled with springs, which beat out of the ground on the banks and in the middle of the lake. The water temperature in summer does not exceed 15, and winter does not fall below + 5-6 degrees, so the lake does not freeze. This was the reason for wintering swans. Every year for about 350 of beautiful birds spend the winter on the lake. In the winter The Swan Lake is a truly unforgettable sight – the trees covered with frost, snow drifts, the mist over the water and snow-white bird that splits the water surface.

A viewing platform overlooking the picturesque panorama of the lake and the bridge which allows to admire the beautiful swans closer are provided for visitors.

Lunch in the cafe of Biysk city. Arrival in Barnaul, hotel accommodation in the city center. Dinner*.

Day 8.   Transfer to airport. (25 km by auto)

Breakfast in the hotel. Transfer to the airport.
